I attended a Mission Fest Conference in Bellevue, WA, last week end. There were enough seminars to last a year so I had to be choosey. What were the keynote speakers addressing? There were several mentions that 2033 will be the 2000 year anniversary of Jesus call to us to go everywhere. We have ten years to make progress. Missions is from every place to every place. The crisis, that we are yet unfinished, was quoted by some and repeated in a prayer book crediting Ronald Dunn with the following; “The Book of Acts is filled with prayer meetings; every forward thrust the first church made was immersed in prayer. Take another look at the church at Pentecost. They prayed ten days and preached ten minutes and three thousand people were saved. Today we pray ten minutes and preach ten days and are ecstatic if anyone is saved.” In all of the discipling time Jesus spent, I don’t remember any place where He taught them how to make a three-point outline for a sermon to preach, but He did teach them to pray. I need more patella time. I was at a prayer meeting for missionaries last night. There were less than 25 people in attendance and half were young people. It was blustery, wet, and cold, so we were happy to see each other. I belong to the best church, but out of such a large congregation, how can only 25 people think prayer for missionaries is a priority? I know that in my long lifetime I have spent more time watching tv than in prayer. This is my new movement but you can spread the word…More Patella Time.
