Please do not have hope in a God of your design. There are religions where you get to pick the god/goddess that you want to worship. That way you can tell him/her what to do. Don’t assign one trait, like love, then ignore who God really is. It is true that God is love but, to be more truthful, you cannot miss that God is also holy, just, righteous, powerful, eternal, uncreated, and has many many more attributes then you can fathom. Once you have your designer god, what is the difference between believing in that god and worshipping god? I know lots of people who had a god in their upbringing and might even believe in the God of the Bible but they worship the world and those people and things in it. It is a dead end as we see in the flesh. We may get our 80-ish years but if there is nothing more, no spiritual world and no real God beyond our imagination, why not make merry because tomorrow we die. We have a Shepherd who will not, body and soul, drag us into Heaven. We are powerless against the weather so how can we move ourselves from darkness into light? In Rom 1:25 the mention is that we exchange the truth about God for a lie. Society cannot heal itself so be mad at Biden or Trump, who are mere men, but that kind of hope is a false hope. Hope only in the Son of God who delivered on our salvation. I keep saying that prayer precedes action because I pray for a friend and am then prompted to call or visit. I keep saying that gratitude precedes the miracles because our good God answers prayers. I keep saying a lot of things and wonder if I’m beginning to sound like a broken record. What will God decide about you and do you believe that you will dwell in the house of the Lord forever? What will He do? Ps 115:4-8, “Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.”
