On New Year’s Day I started out on the right foot by reading the first offering in Our Daily Bread 2026. There was Acts 17 again. In October I was in Athens at a location where Paul gave the full gospel. There are always three reactions. Some sneered, others wanted to hear more, and door number three is…me. I’m in the group that believe. I’ve never been interested in going to the Holy Land – Israel. My friend Joyce leaves tomorrow. I went to Greece because it was a teen wish and I wanted to see old friends on the tour. I’ve been to Rome twice, where so much of the New Testament took place and bears historical roots. Once was on mission after a short-term trip in Bari in the south. I never expected to see any of these places and am grateful. No matter where we are today – after all is said and done and there is no time left for us – we are in Heaven or hell based on one good decision. The people who will be in both places made many poor decisions and miscalculations during their lifetimes. Athens or no, we have God’s Word. We have witnesses and our own experience that proves it all. If you do not believe that Jesus is who He said He is at least do not mock Him or believers. How you respond is between you and God. I believe the Judgement Day will be one on one so don’t prepare an argument in advance but confess your sins instead. If we are not being mocked perhaps we are speaking up. Acts 17:29-34.
