Photo Drop

Posted on February 22, 2024February 22, 2024 by Pam

The people of Israel stacked stones and I make photo albums. I’ve just spent time each day, for ten days, down-sizing photo albums. It has made me melancholy and 17 of my closest and dearest friends are getting envelopes from me with photos too precious to round-file. I condensed and am now looking at eleven…

Complaint Theology

Posted on February 19, 2024February 19, 2024 by Pam

The people of Israel had a habit of murmuring in their tents. I’m calling this complaint theology where we believe in God and thank Him for how He has saved us in the past but complain today because circumstances are falling below our expectations. Complaint is a human condition and quite the opposite of gratefulness….

Holy Garments

Posted on February 19, 2024February 19, 2024 by Pam

One of my favorite Bible characters is the woman with the issue of blood. You may stop reading here if this is not your favorite. Her tenacity has encouraged me in difficult times and I have pictured myself on my hands and knees grasping at Jesus garment. I have also seen the Hollywood version in…

God is a Builder

Posted on February 19, 2024February 19, 2024 by Pam

I’m reading the very specific instructions that God gives to the construction and reconstruction of His temple. Beginning in Ezekiel Chapter 40, God gives a vision of a man with a measuring rod in his hand. Thus begins the measuring and counting of pillars, porches, guardrooms, courtyards, inner courts, and outer courts. I find Ezekiel’s…

On My Phone

Posted on February 16, 2024February 16, 2024 by Pam

I have a recent challenge with spam calls. I learned that, even if the call is within my area code, if there is a +1, it is likely out-of-area spam. I rejoined the “no-call list”, I thought I was already on. I also looked at the numbers on my phone and need an edit. When…

Don’t Stone the Messenger

Posted on February 14, 2024February 14, 2024 by Pam

I did not realize that ‘Don’t shoot/stone the messenger’ is from the Bible in the Book of Jeremiah. The phrase is not exactly there but certainly the sentiment. Jeremiah is faithful in the calling God has assigned him. He is a mouthpiece for God and another precursor of Jesus. There are many books, short and…

Go to the Potter’s House

Posted on February 12, 2024February 12, 2024 by Pam

When you don’t know what to do – do the dishes. A friend shared that wisdom with me a decade ago and you will rarely find dishes in my sink. I had a new contact today from a missions group serving in a difficult US city. Every idea of service excites me because I know,…

Good Plan, Job

Posted on February 7, 2024February 7, 2024 by Pam

Yesterday I had lunch with three friends, all widows. One has been a widow for 22 years. That is a long time to be alone when you chose a man who loves you but God calls him home. That might sound like an oversimplification but if God is sovereign, He gets credit for everything –…

Our Ways – Our Wants

Posted on February 4, 2024February 4, 2024 by Pam

In Psalm 115 David writes detailing the impotence of idols. It begins with the fact that our God does whatever He pleases. Idols have mouths but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see, ears but cannot hear, noses but cannot smell, hands but cannot feel, feet but cannot walk, and cannot make a sound with their…

Scatter Joy

Posted on February 2, 2024February 2, 2024 by Pam

There are people who are blessed by their name. Pamela means honey and I continue to work on being sweeter. I met a student at YWAM named Joy and her smile was infectious. What a beautiful person. I have been making frequent trips to the post office lately and am a sucker for the cards/stationary…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
