Ordinary but Impossible

Posted on November 3, 2025November 3, 2025 by Pam

This is the season of trying our best. Today I had help digging out a few layers in my garage to find the snow tires. Now I cannot get my car into that space until the bi-annual shuffle completes. It is an ordinary garage but impossibly narrow for one car. I’m trying my best. Next…

Those Locusts

Posted on November 3, 2025 by Pam

The Bible talks about God restoring what the locusts have stolen in Joel 2:25 where the Lord promises to “restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten”. The locusts are often interpreted to represent judgment for the sin that besets us and leads to loss. The restoration is for those who have repented….

The Ruins and Rebuilding

Posted on November 1, 2025November 3, 2025 by Pam

I just returned from Greece. I had never been there and what a privilege to view the many ruins, monasteries, and dig-sites. Now that the jet lag is behind me I am wondering, in amazement, how did the ruins get ruined? All fall down? Did people stop caring and giving care to those buildings? They…

Chosen By God

Posted on November 1, 2025 by Pam

Today I read the end of Genesis with the account of the colorful life of Joseph. He knew people and had experienced what we all experience – betrayal. What God did in his life was remarkable. I noticed something I have never seen before concerning his brother’s assignment to bring their Father and household to…

How Much?

Posted on October 28, 2025October 29, 2025 by Pam

This title could be perceived as a shopping trip and I am comparing prices but it isn’t. What I really wanted to write is ‘How much loss is enough’? I just took this photo of what the final destination is for the leaves from a tree near me. The leaves begin with hope and beauty…

Thirteen Stamps

Posted on October 27, 2025October 29, 2025 by Pam

I will need to renew my passport in 2026. As I packed it away this week I was curious. How many stamps – thirteen. I’ve only had one destination on a bucket list, Florence, Italy, and I made it in 2023. My travel has been to serve. I’ve been surprised by these destinations and the…

Seek and Find

Posted on October 27, 2025November 1, 2025 by Pam

This morning I was praying for people who (I believe) do not have salvation. That sounds judgy but some are self-proclaimed adverse to the gospel and others I hear words but those lives are just as uncertain as the last group. I’ve started calling people ‘followers of Jesus’ vs believers. That is wrong. I learned…

Go With God

Posted on October 26, 2025October 29, 2025 by Pam

I like to say that to people – Go with God. I met a couple on a flight and hoped to connect enough for a gospel conversation. The alcohol flowed. It became less interesting. I did not say, “Go with God”. We discussed many things but God is sober and sobering. That is also why…

Welcome to a World of More

Posted on October 26, 2025 by Pam

I have no idea what this means but it is the slogan for Alaska Air. It was a good flight – much better than the connecting flight – so maybe I did get more of something. But consider the word. More can be frightful if it is more struggle, heartbreak, ants, illness, bad weather, and…

Advice on Growing

Posted on October 26, 2025October 27, 2025 by Pam

I read a fascinating Epoch Times article on Mark Twain where he gives advice on growing old. The first thing I recommend is a forced period of rest and introspection. That would be fasting. Less seems more the older I get. Twain had other ideas. His eating habits were coffee and bread at 8:00 AM…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
