Don’t Stone the Messenger

Posted on February 14, 2024February 14, 2024 by Pam

I did not realize that ‘Don’t shoot/stone the messenger’ is from the Bible in the Book of Jeremiah. The phrase is not exactly there but certainly the sentiment. Jeremiah is faithful in the calling God has assigned him. He is a mouthpiece for God and another precursor of Jesus. There are many books, short and…

Go to the Potter’s House

Posted on February 12, 2024February 12, 2024 by Pam

When you don’t know what to do – do the dishes. A friend shared that wisdom with me a decade ago and you will rarely find dishes in my sink. I had a new contact today from a missions group serving in a difficult US city. Every idea of service excites me because I know,…

Good Plan, Job

Posted on February 7, 2024February 7, 2024 by Pam

Yesterday I had lunch with three friends, all widows. One has been a widow for 22 years. That is a long time to be alone when you chose a man who loves you but God calls him home. That might sound like an oversimplification but if God is sovereign, He gets credit for everything –…

Our Ways – Our Wants

Posted on February 4, 2024February 4, 2024 by Pam

In Psalm 115 David writes detailing the impotence of idols. It begins with the fact that our God does whatever He pleases. Idols have mouths but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see, ears but cannot hear, noses but cannot smell, hands but cannot feel, feet but cannot walk, and cannot make a sound with their…

Scatter Joy

Posted on February 2, 2024February 2, 2024 by Pam

There are people who are blessed by their name. Pamela means honey and I continue to work on being sweeter. I met a student at YWAM named Joy and her smile was infectious. What a beautiful person. I have been making frequent trips to the post office lately and am a sucker for the cards/stationary…

Henry’s a Doer

Posted on February 2, 2024February 2, 2024 by Pam

This is a line from a popular English tv show. Mary is comparing her deceased husband to her current husband, Henry. There is no lack of love but an understanding that some of us attack our lives with action. He is pragmatic and not a whimsical dreamer. “He must test himself (for endurance) from morning…

The High Places

Posted on January 27, 2024January 28, 2024 by Pam

“And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.” 2 Pet 1:19 We need the right words – words that are sure and reliable. Those…

Friends Forever

Posted on January 26, 2024January 26, 2024 by Pam

Recently I was touring an old Bible with small print. I’ve loved and used that Bible – but now I use larger print. Sometimes I will find a little scrap of paper with a Bible verse or, sometimes, money in a Bible. This Bible had a phone number and a name. To write something in…

Is God Resting?

Posted on January 23, 2024January 24, 2024 by Pam

I’ve had some serious sleep avoidance because of a silly prescription that I just finished. It has already been an especially busy week and I almost fell asleep on a friends couch mid-visit by 3 PM. At night I’m lying there for hours and my mind is doing the same thing your mind does on…

More Surrender

Posted on January 20, 2024January 20, 2024 by Pam

I’m sassy. The thought of surrender is full of friction. Days are full of resistance with forward and backwards steps, for instance, today. My goal is to serve the Lord abroad and locally. Each day I anticipate inspiration and it comes. I’m clearing space in my home and mind so that I can travel “lighter”….

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
