What To Wear?

Posted on January 8, 2024January 8, 2024 by Pam

After reading the end of Genesis I thought I had the perfect solution. When Joseph is finally redeemed from the dungeon, Pharaoh recognizes that God is with Joseph. He had interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and saved the kingdom of Egypt! When Pharaoh advances Joseph to number two in the kingdom he puts a ring on his…

The Pope

Posted on January 8, 2024January 8, 2024 by Pam

So the Pope is having conversations. He recently met with the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics. Firstly – the church is the bride of Christ. No one changes the church from the inside. We are not holy enough to correct what God has planned. All are welcomed in the church but lifestyle opposed to the…

Door Number One?

Posted on January 7, 2024January 7, 2024 by Pam

To summarize history, we can choose to live one of two ways. There is a door number one – believe in God. Door number two is deny God. Again, I stress, there is no door 9.5 or 12.5, as in the Harry Potter movies. We do not design the options but only place our bet….

Oh No Joe

Posted on January 4, 2024January 4, 2024 by Pam

As I read the account of Joseph’s childhood in Genesis I wanted to warn him. If your dream is going to cause angst from your brothers, why tell them? I’m all about keeping the peace. Why stir up resentment? The guy was the youngest. We read that he was attractive enough that a woman faked…

No Super Powers

Posted on January 4, 2024January 4, 2024 by Pam

I am very grateful that I have no super powers. I have many gifts but no super powers. Today’s example was a drive on a “back” road linking my home to my favorite bakery. So much for a fresh start with my sweets habit. It is all residential and a mad/crazy driver was traveling twice…

Dog in a Basket – Baby in a Womb

Posted on January 3, 2024January 3, 2024 by Pam

I just caught up on some news and social media. Social media does not take much time out of my day but what started as a way to check in on my kids has grown to keeping up with past and new friends. I’ve learned a lot and expect most of it is true! Today…

The Hardest Story

Posted on January 3, 2024January 7, 2024 by Pam

I’ve started a quick read of the Bible – which I have never done before. It is January 2nd and Sarah is already dead. I’ve also finished the account which is most challenging for me. I’m not sure when I first wanted to run out of the room. I can’t remember the first telling of…

Undressing the Holidays

Posted on January 1, 2024January 1, 2024 by Pam

I don’t know the state of your home today, on January 1, 2024, but there may still be remnants of Christmas. There is the tradition of the 12 Days of Christmas but I have not usually celebrated in that way. Then there was the year I left the tree up all 12 months and had…

The Best Gift

Posted on December 29, 2023December 29, 2023 by Pam

You already know what I’m going to write about. It’s after Christmas and the boxes are gone and we are left with grateful hearts that we have people. We make memories that will outlast the thing in the box. The Advent Devotional my church created for Day 23 suggested these readings: Isaiah 6:1-7, Philippians 2:5-7,…

Write It For Yourself

Posted on December 29, 2023December 30, 2023 by Pam

“A man has to learn that he cannot command things, but that he can command himself; that he cannot coerce the wills of others, but that he can mold and master his own will: and things serve him who serves Truth; people seek guidance of him who is master of himself.” – James Allen Let…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
