Cunningham

Posted on October 23, 2023October 23, 2023 by Pam

I can’t keep every book I like or even love. I’m breaking from YWAM study notes to a few notes on a book by Darlene Cunningham. She and Loren, recently deceased, founded the movement birthing short-term ministry trips. Youth With A Mission or YWAM has thousands of well-trained people. This missions movement has effectively grown…

Identity

Posted on October 22, 2023October 22, 2023 by Pam

Oh my goodness. This week of teaching was full of truth that I understood. Carolyn Ros is so gifted and, later, she returned during our debrief with her husband, Johan. She began by drawing a tree. The roots are beliefs, trunk is world view, higher is values, branches – behavior, and top, with leaves, is…

Evangelism in Switzerland

Posted on October 22, 2023October 22, 2023 by Pam

At Wiler with YWAM 50+, we spend a week in November with a variety of missions people. All had different locations and experiences. Daniel was an amazing teacher with brilliant visuals. I recently shared a photo of me standing in a GIANT pair of boots. I would never get far in these (especially if a…

Two Things

Posted on October 22, 2023 by Pam

I’m not sure why ancient memories pop up but here are two. My Mother was sweet and kind. She did not object or correct me for these two things but I could see her confusion and disapproval. Eyes are so telling. They were both events that I thought she would enjoy. 31 flavors ice cream…

A Truck Is Coming

Posted on October 12, 2023October 12, 2023 by Pam

All week I have looked like a hillbilly. Don’t be mad if you are a hillbilly but I broke a front tooth and do not look like me to me. It takes a nasty shot to numb the front of your mouth so the dentist gave me nitrous oxide for the first time. I still…

Why Do We Invite Death?

Posted on October 12, 2023October 15, 2023 by Pam

Atrocity, after atrocity. Hamas attacks. Young men murder strangers because old men hate other old men. Where is the border? People divorce others they claimed to love for years. Abortion. There is never enough. Another cancer victim. Lust and lies. A friend sends a nasty text. We stand at the door with an umbrella, looking…

The Topics

Posted on October 9, 2023October 9, 2023 by Pam

I should have started with this topic list a few months ago. I am, very slowly, reviewing my YWAM notes. I’ve written through Original Design but here are the twelve weeks of topics: Relationship, Contemplative Prayers, Character and Nature of God and Father Heart of God, Giving up Rights and Holy Spirit, Prophecy, Original Design,…

Humble Pie

Posted on October 9, 2023October 9, 2023 by Pam

I always think of the Sermon on the Mount when I see the word ‘humble’ in scripture. I don’t know why. My New Kings James Version refers to the poor in spirit, mourners, meek, those hungering for righteousness, the merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and the persecuted. There are so many promises to those. Eating…

It Is So Dark

Posted on October 9, 2023October 9, 2023 by Pam

Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they stumble. Another wicked day with Israel declaring war after Hamas launched thousands of rockets. What choice did they have? A previous leader stated that, “You cannot make peace with those who come to kill you”. There is no…

Jesus is the Same

Posted on October 4, 2023October 4, 2023 by Pam

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, YES and forever. Today the Catholic Synod Begins with Pope Francis opening a gathering of Roman Catholic delegates today in Vatican City. I walked those grounds just six months ago. The artist’s vendors and religious items are beautiful and people visiting really respect a kind…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
