Psalm 60-77

Posted on March 24, 2025March 24, 2025 by Pam

Save me. That is a repeated message in the Psalms. I’m also noticing the follow-up response, “For His steadfast love endures forever”. Save me – He will. There are many more nuances in these chapters. In the entire Bible the following is recorded 365 times, “Do not be afraid”. Rescue me is found 150 times…

Who Crowns Jesus?

Posted on March 23, 2025March 24, 2025 by Pam

I listened to a worship song on the 23rd day of Ramadan. As Muslims focus on their spiritual lives, Christians pray that they will be open to Jesus. The chorus, about Jesus, repeated, “We crown Him”. It was a big production yet very respectful but I could not picture me crowning Jesus. I don’t have…

My Favorite Three Days

Posted on March 21, 2025March 22, 2025 by Pam

Monday used to be my favorite day. Since I had worked forever, I reserved Monday to catch up on paper-work. Really, it was a day to go slow and I like going slow. Saturdays I worked and Sunday was special for other reasons. Monday I processed paperwork, called everyone on my heart, did laundry, and…

When You Don’t Know Next Steps

Posted on March 4, 2025March 4, 2025 by Pam

I heard a saying years ago that I have adopted – “When you don’t know what to do – do the dishes”. This is not life-transforming but at least your kitchen is clean. I do like the idea of not rushing into the unknown. Being impulsive in too many things can lead to regret. I…

Stripped

What I remember about a rainbow is the order of color – ROY G BIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. God designed it. He created such a beautiful world that displays all combinations of His colors. When asked last minute to teach children it is my go-to lesson and craft. Many…

Man Destroys Himself

Posted on February 27, 2025February 27, 2025 by Pam

Pray for His purpose or we can waste a life (from a Perspectives testimony). I also read this today in Joy Loewen’s thoughtful book, Woman to Woman, Sharing Jesus with a Muslim Friend, “Freedom and healing are the twin ministries of the Holy Spirit”. Purpose, freedom, and healing can only be accomplished/completed by belief in…

Defection From Christ

Posted on February 26, 2025February 27, 2025 by Pam

I’m reading as far as I can before my head hurts. Dietrich, in ETHICS, uses words I never use so this is a slow go but I know he also saw what I have missed. I was not yet born while he was writing this book and his circumstances were serious. His position in the…

Psalm 52-59 – Oh Glory

Posted on February 26, 2025February 26, 2025 by Pam

Glory is a term that only relates to who God is. In the Book of Hebrews the term effulgence reflects another character of God – the ability to shine brightly. A similar description is the state of looking very beautiful or being full of goodness. God dazzles us and our breath is taken away with…

Soaking It In

Posted on February 25, 2025February 26, 2025 by Pam

Aside from the rain in British Columbia, I keep noticing other things. This random input is not special or biblical but just a collection. Please skip this reading if you are hoping for substance. Where I am staying has a collection of DVD’s so I watched an old Star Wars film. I’m convinced that George…

A Serious Prayer

Posted on February 24, 2025February 25, 2025 by Pam

Psalm 51 is a prayer from David to God after his missteps into murder and adultery. The outcome was horrific. Even with God’s forgiveness we are stuck with memories of the harm we have caused. The psalm is full of outcomes and more detail but I see another formula. What are the steps to tell…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
