MY CALLING
I wonder if dad’s feel the same? My calling has been my two children. I have worked harder and been happier about them than anything else. Yes, busy, but even the picture of Christ and His Bride, the church, is family – God’s plan. That is what challenges me most about same-sex marriage. If we all chose that, our civilization would die. It cannot be right. It denies God’s design, and, therefore, God. If you deny God then you deny Jesus, then you deny Heaven and end up in hell. Are you going to argue about that and everything else that does not conform to your personal agenda? You are not God. That is also a real pit in divorce. Those who do not keep their promises or stop trying to be the family they promised to be could be selfish – you think? Maybe they believe the lie that God likes divorce. God does not. Jesus returns to Genesis to explain that important principle to the scribes and Pharisees who are hoping, like John the Baptist, that taking the hard line on marriage, divorce, and related sin might get Jesus beheaded. Stop thinking you can have the affect and stature of the hero of your story and make special rules for your ‘special’ circumstances. I am not a hero but I love those people God allowed me to care for. We don’t have to be perfect. Go and love your people because nothing is more important. It is not easy but it pleases God. He is faithful and appreciates faithful people like Him. My calling was you.
