No Backdoor

Posted on October 25, 2023October 25, 2023 by Pam

There is no backdoor to Heaven. I cannot say for sure but anticipate many surprises in that future. There is one key to the door, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”, Rom 10:13. Years ago a couple of friends set out with a plan to view a drive-in movie. Instead of paying the entrance fee, one car entered then the remaining (me included – yikes I’m embarrassed to own up to this but I truly had no knowledge of the plan) snuck in. We scuttled under a fence and saw the movie, popcorn and all. That was not the right way because there was no backdoor. It was not the best way. I felt guilty and never did it again – peer pressure. We choose second best. For instance, I have three bird baths in my back yard. One is large & inviting. A second is a smaller natural stone with a perfect curve to hold rain water for a small bird and under a beautiful orange, at this time of year, Japanese maple. I’m attaching a photo. The third is never visited by birds – at least not in my view. It is a very large ceramic bowl with koi fish painted on the bottom. I don’t know the real purpose for such a giant piece, but thought this purpose ideal. Wouldn’t you think fish would attract birds – but no. It would appear that a bird could have three routes to a nice splash. There is only one bird bath in use. Another miscalculation is the movie scandal thing and the thing of thinking I can get into God’s Heaven some other way than through his Son. Today I viewed a video via Radical with Steve Morales. I did not know that China prints Bibles for export. The challenge is that God’s word is being edited. For instance, at the end of the account of the woman caught in adultery, Jesus stones her! I am not kidding. God’s truth of forgiveness has been wiped out. These Bible’s are getting into the hands of the struggling church in China. They are being exported. Do you see that this is like another door of deceit? Another trick to hide the truth that Jesus is the only way. Satan is fighting a losing battle but he still wants to take as many to Hell as he can. He is a liar. There is no backdoor. Please read Rom 10:8-13 and share the truth. Go out into your world as if someone’s life depends on it because it does.

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
