An Idea Day

Posted on April 8, 2025 by Pam

From today’s Bible study on Heaven, to conversations, from reading and processing, and a zoom meeting, it has been a big idea day. Just a few mentions. The Devil in the Dentist Office. It wasn’t even the unlikely event that it would take three attempts to take one X-ray that irritated me but it was…

Isaiah 61

Posted on April 8, 2025 by Pam

Today I was challenged by my missions friends to read this chapter and listen for what God wanted to say to me. The most obvious truth is that, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me to…”. Nothing good comes from our efforts without the Spirit of the…

Send It to the Maker

Posted on April 7, 2025April 9, 2025 by Pam

I messaged those words to my sister who just sent a photo of herself and another lady at an event with the exact same cape. It was beautiful so I suggested she “send the photo it to the cape-maker”. The cape is rust and looks knitted with Navajo patterns – a standout – but what…

America the Beautiful

Posted on April 6, 2025April 6, 2025 by Pam

I think I must have killed one hundred bugs on my drive over the pass. It’s crazy that everyone is traveling 75 miles/hour when the posted speed is 55 for trucks and 65 for autos. I’m willing to drive 70 but that is my limit unless the posted limit is 70. I started the journey…

Follow Who?

Posted on April 3, 2025April 4, 2025 by Pam

You can believe in someone yet still follow yourself. It is true that if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ you will be saved. It is also true that the word Christian is found ten times in the Bible compared to 260 mentions of disciple. We are called to the whole thing – believe,…

The Elevated Lifestyle You Deserve

Posted on March 30, 2025March 30, 2025 by Pam

Oh Seattle, Seattle. Matthew 23:37 says, “Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!” It is easy to believe we are special and…

Psalm 60-77

Posted on March 24, 2025March 24, 2025 by Pam

Save me. That is a repeated message in the Psalms. I’m also noticing the follow-up response, “For His steadfast love endures forever”. Save me – He will. There are many more nuances in these chapters. In the entire Bible the following is recorded 365 times, “Do not be afraid”. Rescue me is found 150 times…

Who Crowns Jesus?

Posted on March 23, 2025March 24, 2025 by Pam

I listened to a worship song on the 23rd day of Ramadan. As Muslims focus on their spiritual lives, Christians pray that they will be open to Jesus. The chorus, about Jesus, repeated, “We crown Him”. It was a big production yet very respectful but I could not picture me crowning Jesus. I don’t have…

My Favorite Three Days

Posted on March 21, 2025March 22, 2025 by Pam

Monday used to be my favorite day. Since I had worked forever, I reserved Monday to catch up on paper-work. Really, it was a day to go slow and I like going slow. Saturdays I worked and Sunday was special for other reasons. Monday I processed paperwork, called everyone on my heart, did laundry, and…

When You Don’t Know Next Steps

Posted on March 4, 2025March 4, 2025 by Pam

I heard a saying years ago that I have adopted – “When you don’t know what to do – do the dishes”. This is not life-transforming but at least your kitchen is clean. I do like the idea of not rushing into the unknown. Being impulsive in too many things can lead to regret. I…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
