What Is The Goal

Posted on January 14, 2024January 14, 2024 by Pam

What IS the goal? Can this new year be about surviving this life? No – because no one can do that. I have a disturbingly long list of people in my prayer journal who are sick. Do I think I can save them? No – not a one. But I know someone who can so…

Her Microwave

Posted on January 14, 2024January 14, 2024 by Pam

My microwave was groaning. I used it anyway. Then it was moaning and I used it anyway. Then I would leave the room for ‘just in case’. I would forget it wasn’t working. I finally googled microwave groaning. Every search would list seven things that can be wrong with your microwave. No one mentioned moaning…

To Lament

Posted on January 14, 2024January 14, 2024 by Pam

There is passion to lament beyond grief and sorrow. The book of Lamentations follows the book of Jeremiah in the Old Testament. The first verse begins with, “How lonely sits the city that was full of people! How like a widow is she, Who was great among the nations! The princess among the provinces has…

Doubting Our Doubts

Posted on January 14, 2024January 14, 2024 by Pam

Both Peter and Judas denied Christ. One came back. I don’t know what Judas thought he could accomplish by turning Jesus over or if he knew the extent of his betrayal until it was too late. Peter doubted his safety. He no longer expected Jesus could save him. He denied Christ three times. When Jesus…

Smorgasbord

Posted on January 11, 2024January 14, 2024 by Pam

In junior high my dad started coming to church. It was for a season but so fun. We were like a whole family worshipping together. I knew it was right and good that that was all I would accept for my future family. As a family, we rarely ate in restaurants. Fast food was also…

What To Wear?

Posted on January 8, 2024January 8, 2024 by Pam

After reading the end of Genesis I thought I had the perfect solution. When Joseph is finally redeemed from the dungeon, Pharaoh recognizes that God is with Joseph. He had interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and saved the kingdom of Egypt! When Pharaoh advances Joseph to number two in the kingdom he puts a ring on his…

The Pope

Posted on January 8, 2024January 8, 2024 by Pam

So the Pope is having conversations. He recently met with the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics. Firstly – the church is the bride of Christ. No one changes the church from the inside. We are not holy enough to correct what God has planned. All are welcomed in the church but lifestyle opposed to the…

Door Number One?

Posted on January 7, 2024January 7, 2024 by Pam

To summarize history, we can choose to live one of two ways. There is a door number one – believe in God. Door number two is deny God. Again, I stress, there is no door 9.5 or 12.5, as in the Harry Potter movies. We do not design the options but only place our bet….

Oh No Joe

Posted on January 4, 2024January 4, 2024 by Pam

As I read the account of Joseph’s childhood in Genesis I wanted to warn him. If your dream is going to cause angst from your brothers, why tell them? I’m all about keeping the peace. Why stir up resentment? The guy was the youngest. We read that he was attractive enough that a woman faked…

No Super Powers

Posted on January 4, 2024January 4, 2024 by Pam

I am very grateful that I have no super powers. I have many gifts but no super powers. Today’s example was a drive on a “back” road linking my home to my favorite bakery. So much for a fresh start with my sweets habit. It is all residential and a mad/crazy driver was traveling twice…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
