Talk about acceptance. As a mature woman I attended a water park for the day with family. Mostly I watched my grandkids but also put on a swimsuit then later added one of those sun-proof long-sleeved water shirts. People do odd things at water parks and barriers are minimized. For whatever reason, I found myself liking everyone I met in the lazy river. I never walk barefoot but there I did. I saw people spit in the water and I didn’t leap out of the pool. Difference in skin color and body-types seemed to fade away. I thought of world peace. I wonder if the next world peace conference were held at a water park if people would lighten up? I could see a flag parade. I could see people admiring each other’s children. No one can hide from the truth in a swimsuit. Everyone looked out for each other and their children (most adults don’t go to water parks unless they have children?) – I’m not always this crazy but would a peace- pool-party conference improve our acceptance of each other?
