I was going to label this post “nothing original” only because I listen, watch, evaluate, and then share. There is something to be said for the phrase, “there is nothing new under the sun”. That is why I wonder why people are allowed to write books that sound an awful lot like the other book I just finished! That’s alright as a good word bears repeating. I wanted you to know that I am happy looking ahead to serving the Lord in retirement. We are the image bearers of God in a broken world but restoration is just a decision away (not original to me). Jesus was the perfect combination of Spirit and humanity. 100% + 100% is not a difficult math problem for God but don’t look to me for an explanation.
Just a reminder – while here – the best way to communicate with me is by email at pam@pamschmoll.com. I am repeating this because, after so many years in real estate, I daily unsubscribe to information that is no longer useful. I saw the value at the time but, I hope, someone else can benefit from stuff I am not using. It is like a sifting. You retire then you clean files. You retire and visit the people you miss. You retire and the focus goes elsewhere. You retire and your inbox gets easier. We all take leaps of faith. If I were still skiing you would find me on a bunny hill (especially after dark). But I still end up at the same place as the guy to the right of me who went a steeper route. We are on different paths but be sure your path leads to the right place and matches who you are. It is not necessarily about talents but who God created you to be. Psalm 139:13-15, “For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works. And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from Thee, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth”. Yes, you are awesome! One last thought on Phil’s teaching this week – a quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are Spiritual beings having a human experience”. Are you content? Is God content with how you use this great gift of life? We can all pause to do a bit of sifting?
