Kind of Shaky

Posted on November 24, 2023November 24, 2023 by Pam

Earthquakes do not surprise God – in fact nothing surprises Him. We know that God is over time and sees all. That is usually good news. Most of the biblical references to earthquakes are found in the book of Revelation. Revelation is the final disclosure from God until Jesus comes for a second time. He…

More Ideas

Posted on November 20, 2023November 20, 2023 by Pam

I baked cookies today for the first time in awhile. Baking is also thinking time and it takes time to bake dozens of cookies. We have questions about God and prayer. How is God answering those prayers? Has he forgotten about you or is His answer different than you planned for. Today I also mailed…

Churros

Posted on November 14, 2023November 15, 2023 by Pam

I don’t often write about food but a churro, to me, is filled with happy memories, not cream. A churro is a type of fried dough from Spanish and Portuguese cuisine and is pastry dough piped into hot oil from a star tip piping bag. Afterwards there is a generous sprinkling of sweetness – sugar…

One Testimony

Posted on November 12, 2023November 12, 2023 by Pam

I have been commissioned. Reading Acts 1:1-9, Jesus left this earth on a high and important note. Verse eight reads, “but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of…

God So Loved the World

Posted on November 10, 2023November 10, 2023 by Pam

God is still pursuing us. We love to describe Him as a loving God because love covers a multitude of sins. That lends a feeling of safety regarding the places in our lives where we miss the mark – called sin. I John 3:1 reads, “What great love the Father has lavished on us, that…

More Patella Time

Posted on November 7, 2023November 7, 2023 by Pam

I attended a Mission Fest Conference in Bellevue, WA, last week end. There were enough seminars to last a year so I had to be choosey. What were the keynote speakers addressing? There were several mentions that 2033 will be the 2000 year anniversary of Jesus call to us to go everywhere. We have ten…

Lot’s of Ideas

Posted on October 29, 2023October 29, 2023 by Pam

I don’t know which day of the week is best for reflection. Today is a Sunday and I’m pensive. So here it is – a barrage of thoughts from me and others I’ve been listening to. God has two sides Bye bye my sins. Is God forgetful or full of mercy? There are six things…

No Backdoor

Posted on October 25, 2023October 25, 2023 by Pam

There is no backdoor to Heaven. I cannot say for sure but anticipate many surprises in that future. There is one key to the door, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”, Rom 10:13. Years ago a couple of friends set out with a plan to view a drive-in movie….

Wishing

Posted on October 24, 2023October 24, 2023 by Pam

Wishing is present in me. I love how that sounds but what about an outcome? My Mother had underlined Rom 7:18-25 in red. I haven’t seen anything else with red in her old Bible. She passed in 2008 and I miss her. She led me to the Lord when I was five years old. Verse…

People Pursue

Posted on October 23, 2023October 23, 2023 by Pam

Returning to teaching on Identity from Carolyn Ros. People pursue meaning, satisfaction, freedom, identity, and hope. 2 Tim 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline”. That is our identity. We are His workmanship, appointed, known, formed, searched, renewed, comforted, called, measured, directed, crafty, found,…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
