The Contrast

Posted on September 15, 2024September 15, 2024 by Pam

I have figured out a code for what I am writing about. If I begin with “In Prague” or “In Berlin” it could have some ministry news. If no intro, might be just something the Lord is teaching me or daily-life stuff. In Prague. One thing I have read and am experiencing is that a…

It’s Just Different

Posted on September 14, 2024September 15, 2024 by Pam

Going forward, I will try to identify if I’m writing ‘mission’s trip’ news or just writing! This might be both. This morning I was greeted by a flood warning on my phone from the US Embassy. The mission people here in the Republic of Czech let me know that by registering where I will be,…

A Lone Reed

Posted on September 13, 2024September 14, 2024 by Pam

A Lone Reed I wrote this from Frankfurt a few days ago. “When I’m tired I’m more easily offended. That is not the best admission or start for a gospel volunteer. Two airlines are functioning together so I got in line. The ticket said one thing but after 1.5 hours I was redirected. Thank goodness…

Old Self – New Self

Posted on September 7, 2024September 7, 2024 by Pam

Paul writes much about newness and I also remember the present time is like ‘seeing in a mirror dimly, but then I will know fully’ (I Cor 13:12). So we are to lay aside the old self (old manner of life), corrupted with lusts of deceit. We are renewed in the spirit of our mind…

Tomorrow I Go

Posted on September 7, 2024September 7, 2024 by Pam

Why am I going tomorrow? Glad you asked. I just re-read an article by Andrew Knight on the ‘Four Reasons Why We Leave’. I have many reasons but Knight’s are like mine and I’ll summarize. #1, “We leave because God saves us to send us”. Not every Sunday-goer is aware. We love being spared what…

What a Funeral

Posted on August 24, 2024August 24, 2024 by Pam

I experienced two things today. I don’t know how to measure thoughts but a quick google measures that, according to research,, the average person has approximately 60,000 thoughts each day. Here are two of mine. Carmen Goes is running for Congress. She has good ideas and her platform is consistent with conservative and Godly values….

Jesus Inferred

Posted on August 19, 2024August 19, 2024 by Pam

I think that Jesus is inferred, implied, present, and described, at some level of disclosure, in every book of the Bible. Jesus is the Word and He is the Word of God. The Gospel of John begins with, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….

Happy

Posted on August 8, 2024August 8, 2024 by Pam

“Happy are the people who walk with integrity, who live according to the teachings of the Eternal.” – Psalm 119:1 The Voice. Something needs to happen once we believe. We are walking in integrity and living a different way. To know what to tweak we read the Bible – the teachings of the Eternal. There…

Oops – I Did It Again

Posted on August 6, 2024August 6, 2024 by Pam

I’ve done it again. Many days of good teaching/ideas/suggestions but no time to write. I’ll just touch on a couple… Our moods can go up and down. I know we were created by God but some have extra sensitivities. We refer to those, as children, as being moody or hyperactive while they are just being…

pot-pour-ri

Posted on August 3, 2024August 4, 2024 by Pam

Potpourri means an assortment. It is an assortment of dried petals and spices but I’m looking for a way to give you some thoughts to take over and chew on. God’s Word is constantly inspiring. It is solid truth but seems to morph as we grow. (I don’t know if believers in Jesus can shrink…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
