The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Posted on September 25, 2023September 25, 2023 by Pam

I have about five titles for this little piece. I had such an amazing week – last week. Today I awoke still shaken. Late last night I had taken my biggest hammer to a wall where the biggest, hairy, threatening spider stared down at me. I’m fairly confident there was a smirk. I have never…

What Will He Do?

Posted on September 24, 2023September 25, 2023 by Pam

Please do not have hope in a God of your design. There are religions where you get to pick the god/goddess that you want to worship. That way you can tell him/her what to do. Don’t assign one trait, like love, then ignore who God really is. It is true that God is love but,…

Auto Strike

Posted on September 22, 2023September 22, 2023 by Pam

I think the news has value but I am not as interested as I used to be. I have heard, however, about an auto strike. The first thing I thought of is an automatic response to God in the form of a strike. We don’t like His values so we ignore them. We are, essentially,…

John

St Augustine said of the two testaments, “The new is in the old concealed, the old is in the new revealed.” We need both and need to read both. I have always favored the new because it is a story where the old seems to be complicated with many stores but, in combination, tell of…

New Carts

Posted on September 15, 2023September 15, 2023 by Pam

My mission field is sometimes at Costco. I had the honor of driving some wonderful Saints on some errands today so missed the exercise I had planned but ended up near Costco. I always need gas. Several conversations ensued. The gas station attendant was moving slowly. I noticed a cast and got the story on…

Earthly, Natural, Demonic

Posted on September 14, 2023September 14, 2023 by Pam

I don’t know if everyone in Heaven will be beautiful but I am guessing yes. I can’t imagine pimples or any other condition that caused shame and embarrassment here. What was once natural in the physical world, and familiar, should be better. A new body is promised and Jesus is the first fruits. James 3:16,…

The Elixir

Posted on September 13, 2023September 13, 2023 by Pam

I’ve done several readings of C.S. Lewis’s, ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’. Most recently to fourth-grade students, before that my children one summer, and then my original reading as an early teen. I happened upon the end of the film today and had missed the elixir allegory. There is the creepy battle with…

Keep the Fires Burning

Posted on September 9, 2023September 9, 2023 by Pam

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed upon you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery”, I Tim 4:14. Are you hot? What fuels your faith? That creepy verse in Revelation has always bothered me. When I say things like that it is just because I…

Our Questions

Posted on September 9, 2023September 10, 2023 by Pam

Yes, I am that person who tries not to interrupt the speaker, but wants all of those burning questions answered. I have faith but want more information. Our questions cannot bring about a different God. It is not true that he with the most answers wins. Rom 9:20 reminds us, “On the contrary, who are…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
