Demandingness

Posted on July 24, 2023 by Pam

Another new word but when I read it I know exactly what it means. I, too, insist upon attention, help, or advice from others. Some days I would rather give out a lot of advice to a lot of people! I think my ideas are better than theirs. We want what we want. This demandingness…

Don’t Let the Sun Shine In

Posted on July 24, 2023July 24, 2023 by Pam

It is summer. I like summer but two years ago when we measured 111 degrees Fahrenheit in June and my friend, Jane, was one of those deaths, I know heat is a danger. I should have considered air conditioning when I moved about seven years ago but on a hot evening one could always go…

What is Under the Earth?

Posted on July 22, 2023July 22, 2023 by Pam

Philippians 2:10 states, “…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth,….”. (You can read the surrounding verses for context.) I am no theologian but I am curious so I google it and found a site called, ‘the New Boston…

I Want a Sailboat

Posted on July 22, 2023July 22, 2023 by Pam

Lot’s going on these days but several stories converged on the idea that God has promised us a mansion in Heaven. I think of the ‘Hunger Games’ scene where the victors have the nicest home in the sector but in Heaven I imagine everything is heightened, whatever our current reality is or view of awesomeness….

I Have Been to the Forest

Posted on July 20, 2023July 20, 2023 by Pam

This line from the film E.T. has been rumbling around in my head. It is the scene where E.T. and Elliot are connected in an isolation medical tent. The adult is communicating that he also knows about E.T. and has seen evidence in the forest. He means to connect with Elliot so that he can…

Give Me an Occupation or I Shall Run Mad

Posted on July 17, 2023July 17, 2023 by Pam

This line from the movie may or may not be in the Jane Austen book, ‘Sense and Sensibility’. It is expertly delivered by Alan Rickman who I miss so much. Don’t you wish the real people we love and miss had been film stars so we could revisit them whenever we want? There are two…

The Bullies of the World

Posted on July 15, 2023 by Pam

I went to a happy place this morning. I love waterfront so strolled downtown Kirkland, WA, for several miles. Last night I had viewed four testimonies of unfathomable torture on a production from Voice of the Martyrs. I will be picking up on writing about my studies at YWAM Wiler at week three next but…

Training Wheels

Posted on July 6, 2023July 6, 2023 by Pam

It is summer and the bikes are out. My neighborhood has no lack of children unless, of the 72 homes there is someone praying for a baby so I will pray. Driving slowly through the streets is now especially important. Yesterday I encountered about a dozen bikes, so paused as they passed. Many are too…

New Words

Posted on June 30, 2023June 30, 2023 by Pam

This is not an important post but an interesting post. I stopped writing down words a month ago. I have been reading a variety of books and noting the meanings of “new” words. Some of these writers are either from another planet or know more languages and words than me. I started a list to…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
