At any point, do contact me on professor details. What I am reflecting on came from these great leaders but I am summarizing what I think is most valuable to me. I am not taking credit for the teaching but merely reflecting. These recollections will have many entries but let’s get started. I call Don, is/was, my favorite professor, and he is amazing but there were other precious teachers. This teaching had the greatest impact on my life. I also had the pleasure of sending Don’s book – on many topics but lot’s on being a good father – to my son and son-in-law – after I read it for myself. I gave my copy to a Swiss man who shared that he struggled with the recent loss of his father. I highly recommend the book which is a summary of his main teaching on the Father Heart of God. I also had the privilege to meet Don’s lovely wife, Cecelia, in London while on outreach.
Don and his wife, Cecelia, might be near retiring and were part of the original early Loren Cunningham, Youth With A Mission teaching team. I have renamed YWAM – YOU with a mission because we all do have a mission or purpose for our lives. Here we go on my notes…
God loves us and wants the best for His creation. To disobey a loving God is foolish when He offers us faith and guidance. The Nature and Character of God was Don’s introduction. God is knowable yet Job 36: 27 reads, “How great is God – beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out.” Again, the overseeing principle of YWAM is to know God and to make Him known. A main difference between God and satan is that God is UNCREATED and satan is created – an important distinction. For further study, some verses are: Gen 1:1, Deut 4:39, Isa 4th 6:9, Isa 44:8, Isa 45:21b. God is also ETERNAL, INFINITE, UNLIMITED, UNCHANGEABLE, IMMUTABLE. God is also SPIRIT. John 4:24, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” God is EMMANUEL, meaning with us, Josh 1:9.
