Time Expands Our Stories

Posted on March 28, 2023March 29, 2023 by Pam

Before I get back to school and the next debrief on YWAM – a few observations on the day. I visited the Colosseum in 2017 with my church, Canyon Hills Community Church, on a short-term mission near Bari. We spent one day in Rome and I remember the Colosseum as being biggest thing I have…

My Green Raincoat

Posted on March 27, 2023March 27, 2023 by Pam

I’ve been wanting to tell you about my green raincoat. It is currently spread out in my airB&B getting spot-cleaned for the famous gelato I clumsily dribbled down the front of this green coat. It had stopped raining and the sun came out. The landlady had mentioned a famous gelato place nearby so when I…

Beautiful Cold Stones

Posted on March 27, 2023March 28, 2023 by Pam

The Musei Capitolini in Rome has four collections to enjoy; The Collections, History and Myth, Men and Gods, and Arms and Power. All are artworks on four levels in buildings partially designed by Michelangelo and date back to 1471. Of all the art, what grabbed my attention today was the milliard of granite choices. Italy…

Have I Been a Good Neighbor?

Posted on March 19, 2023March 20, 2023 by Pam

I don’t know if titles are as interesting when they end in a question mark. I have had the pleasure of visiting Florence, Italy – a dream come true. Originally, it was a plan to visit after my DTS and spend some time with one of my sisters. A back injury changed that course but…

My Value Has Not Changed

Posted on March 19, 2023March 20, 2023 by Pam

Because Jesus died for me before I was born, and because He is over time, my value has not changed. I think that a Discipleship Training School teaches that. Each individual has their own unique DTS experience. God is capable of doing that as He is capable of an outreach that is a unique experience….

Before and After

Posted on March 18, 2023March 18, 2023 by Pam

If I showed you a before and after photo of my study at Wiler, on the outside I would look much the same (except for longer hair). What happened on the inside only God can measure if He does measure. Being a God of grace I picture Him cheering me on more then measuring anything…

Where Are You Going?

Posted on March 16, 2023March 18, 2023 by Pam

Well, lately I have been going a lot of places on elevators and these are old elevators. In the thriller films, the heroine is always stuck in a cage elevator. I’ve been in one in Bern in a hotel (only because my luggage was too heavy for stairs) and in a medical office in Florence….

How Do You Feel About Art?

Posted on March 14, 2023March 14, 2023 by Pam

I am convinced that this is a diary and not a blog this week but I do want to make some observations about Italian art. Today I saw Michelangelo’s David. I knew it would be the crowning moment of this tour. The first surprise is that it is magnificent but so tall. In a room…

What Part Do I Play

Posted on March 14, 2023March 14, 2023 by Pam

We ALL have a part in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. What is mine? What is yours? I just enjoyed a “Radical” podcast with David Platt and he talks about “holding the rope” for others in the field in hard places. He then lists what we can individually do: prayer unites, giving, and…

Gianni and Teresa

Posted on March 13, 2023March 14, 2023 by Pam

It only works if you pronounce their names in Italian. I loved Gianni and Teresa from Florence but they passed about a decade ago. There was a loyalty more than a love story but probably both. I have always been drawn to most things Italian but that was solidified when Cynthia Yoler referred her friends…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
