Just As Likely

Posted on March 12, 2023March 12, 2023 by Pam

I know that I am not yet writing about the Discipleship Training but I will get to that. I am in the moment and processing. It is Sunday morning – a day of praise. I’m onto my day by noon in a caffe-bar. What I notice is that my compadres are just as likely to…

Does Italy Need Me?

Posted on March 11, 2023March 11, 2023 by Pam

I don’t think Italy needs me but I still enjoyed Italy today. This is a long one but I have so many words. I ended my day at Cattedrale di Saint Maria del Fiore. I had toured yesterday and it is very near where I am staying. I’ll watch my home church on-line in the…

My Gentle Mother

Posted on March 11, 2023March 11, 2023 by Pam

Today I learned that my friend, Rita’s, Mom passed away in February at age 107. What a remarkable feat! My own sweet Mother passed in 2008 at age 86. Oh how I miss her. It is true that you cannot do enough for a mom because when she is gone that is it for now….

Worship in the Stone Gallery

Posted on March 9, 2023March 9, 2023 by Pam

I had never attended worship at Saint Paul’s Cathedral and had hours to wander. Evensong is described as, Christian worship that has been offered to God on this site for over 1400 years. By worshipping there, I became a part of this living tradition of prayer and thanksgiving to God for the gift of His…

Sacred Objects

Posted on March 9, 2023March 9, 2023 by Pam

It is my first full day in Florence, Italy, and I visited the Bargello Museo. It is walking distance from where I am staying and formally called Museo Nazionale del Bargello. I took too many photos and cried at one point. I am in a city that draws tourists to see sacred objects mostly in…

All Voices

Posted on February 28, 2023March 9, 2023 by Pam

I think I understand “finishing well” and ‘finishing strong” but how about “leaving well”? At the final worship meeting at Wiler (in a converted barn) I entered and found a place. Most of us stood and the music began. The voices started to blend and I looked around at people I will not see again…

I Am So Sorry

Posted on February 20, 2023February 20, 2023 by Pam

On January 9th I traveled with our team to East London. I have not written since January 6th. That is so wrong if you have been faithfully following this effort to “Know God and to make Him known”. All I can say is that serving is exhausting. I was inspired but could not seem to…

Missing You

Posted on January 6, 2023January 6, 2023 by Pam

Why do I write? I feel connected to people and my thoughts and inspiration when I send a card, email, or write a blog. I have not activated my phone other than to face-time with family so no calls is quite a change from a busy real estate career. So many ways to communicate, even…

I’m Back From the Past

Posted on January 1, 2023January 3, 2023 by Pam

Greetings 2023. Yesterday I was in 2022 so today I am back from the past. Reflection is about done so what better use of a day than a walk to a monastery. It was about four miles (6.4 km) which is about my limit and mostly uphill – argh. We walked through several villages. The…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!

“I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4
