Christian World View

Posted on June 12, 2023June 12, 2023 by Pam

It was a long day but needed to become longer. So off to Westgate Chapel in Edmonds for a forum on Worldview formation last evening. I happen to have this definition handy from our YWAM London class on this subject from February 2023. We heard brilliant analysis from Joseph Backholm, a native of Washington State,…

I’m Not Special

Posted on June 11, 2023June 11, 2023 by Pam

BLOG 6/7/23 I’m Not Special I said that to a very dear friend after she surprised me with a most wonderful gift. I was so stunned that what I really thought came out of my mouth and I feel ashamed. It was a few days ago and I knew I needed to write about it…

Three Crosses

Posted on May 19, 2023May 19, 2023 by Pam

It has been a wild eight months. Today I am in Idaho. So many stories. I think about the future a lot lately. And I think about the cross and what I can do now or not do. In Idaho there are many churches but I have seen two or three this week with an…

Time Picks Our Pockets

Posted on May 17, 2023May 17, 2023 by Pam

I read this recently in ‘Our Daily Bread’ on 2 Cor 4:16-5:5. I will not repeat what the author, Arthur Jackson, has so brilliantly written but as a mature person I can feel like a ‘tired tent’. I was so happy to learn that I had not fractured any bones in a fall that took…

Shrink Not

Posted on May 16, 2023May 16, 2023 by Pam

Yesterday I saw a friend I met 50 years ago for the first time in 30 years. In catching up I observed that there are too many stories so stick to the most powerful. So, when I was chasing a rabbit down a sad trail my friend interrupted me with, “So, what about the future?”…

The New Familiar

Posted on April 28, 2023April 28, 2023 by Pam

THE NEW FAMILIAR by embracing the unfamiliar I have been home one week and am still looking for the toaster. I had emptied some rooms to make space for a friend and it will take time to put my home back together. I did hang two pictures exactly where they had been last year. Then…

Will I Ever Get Used to Nasty?

Posted on April 1, 2023April 5, 2023 by Pam

I’m writing this from an airport hotel that is actually nice. I was just hoping for clean because of my nasty Rome experience. I got used to it then yesterday they moved me downstairs on the street next to a laundry shop that had a variety of characters coming and going at crazy hours. It…

The Character of God – Don

Posted on March 31, 2023April 1, 2023 by Pam

I have liked cannoli for a decade but I have loved God longer. I once purchased cannoli forms and know the ingredients but the outcome was disappointing. In Roma you might expect the cannoli to be the best but after one try I am over it. That is the amazing difference with God. The more…

Billy’s Tacos and more Don Teaching

Posted on March 31, 2023April 1, 2023 by Pam

I have walked past Billy’s Tacos in Rome at least a dozen times and there is never a customer. As a business person, who has depended on people liking my skills, I have felt sorry for this owner but not sorry enough to visit. Compassion and empathy should be balanced with good judgement but the…

Don – Part 3

Posted on March 30, 2023April 1, 2023 by Pam

I was created in God’s image. Gen 1:26-27, “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the…

"Thoughts from a genuinely evaluative mind."

Pam writes so that must make her a writer. Recently retired, she can now fill days with family, friends, missions, writing, creating, and showing up for whomever needs her. Pam loves the Lord and people. The Bible is God’s love letter to us (and who does not need more love) so she studies and writes some more.

Pam lives in the Pacific Northwest but was home-grown in Southern California. She attended San Jose Bible College and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. She became a teacher, then a Research and Development Chemist, then she built two successful real estate businesses in two states. Pam also pursued study at Fuller Theological Seminary and just completed six months serving in missions abroad.

Pam has two amazing children, married to two precious in-laws, and five sweet grandchildren. Pam is a gifted connector and communicator and the Northwest has the perfect climate for staying inside and writing – or baking! She has been writing since a wee one and is currently converting many years of blogging, by topic, into ten books. The first is a collection from 2011 titled, Beautiful Enough. The second is a yearly day-timer titled, Weekly Planner - Lessons in Life, Glory, and Grace. Number three is in progress with the working title, Christmas Today.

Ten facts about Pam in no particular order:

  1. On the team that developed an insulation for the Alaskan oil pipeline.
  2. Loves looking at homes, decorating, and has flipped five homes.
  3. Likes being tall.
  4. Films have helped define her vocabulary.
  5. Comes from Colorado tenement farmers with history traced to Wales.
  6. Was lost but now is found.
  7. Baking makes her happy – as does eating sweets with coffee, of course.
  8. She thinks mission work is the most important work in the world.
  9. The church started in Rome so she is learning Italian.
  10. Pam is a work in progress!
